Good afternoon and Happy New Year Warren Scholars, Families, and Staff,
Despite the snow and weather, I hope your 2025 is off to a great start. I have a few announcements for the week of January 8th.
Thank you for your patience and understanding as we navigated the schedule changes following the break due to the winter weather. It certainly made for an unusual start to the second semester! I also want to extend a #WarrenWill thank you to our operations team for preparing our campuses and having our buses ready to go.
Based on future forecasts, we may encounter more snow and cold temperatures this winter. I encourage you to review our inclement weather processes and procedures, which are linked here, and on our District website.
As a result of Monday’s cancellation, K-8 students will participate in an asynchronous eLearning day on Monday, January 20th. To ensure students are prepared, they will be allowed to take their devices home on Friday, January 17th. As with all eLearning days, students will have five days to complete and submit their assignments for attendance and grades. Additional details will be shared through school newsletters and with your child’s teachers.
MSD Warren Township and the Warren School Board will be hosting its Annual Legislative Forum on Saturday, January 25th from 9:00 - 11:00 am. This event will be held at the Warren Education and Community Center at 975 North Post Road. Parents, staff, and community members are invited to attend and engage with the District, school board leaders, local legislators, and our community on topics related to public education in the current legislative session. An agenda of topics will be shared closer to the event date.
Our Next 'Lunch & Learn' Family Engagement Series!
I’m excited to announce the next session of our Lunch & Learn series, happening on Tuesday, January 21st, from 12:00-12:30 PM. Our upcoming session will focus on
"Multilingual Parent Support and Multilingual Student Testing - WIDA."
