As a student, Mrs. Smith attended Pleasant Run Elementary, Stonybrook Middle School, and graduated from Warren Central High School. She returned from Indiana University to teach at Heather Hills Elementary and Creston Intermediate Academy for a total of twelve years. She then served 6 years as Dean of Students here at Lakeside Elementary. The 2018-2019 school year marks her first year as the principal of Lakeside Elementary School.

We believe Lakeside Elementary School is a very special place for our students and families. We want our students to feel safe, valued and encouraged each time they walk into our school. Our success will be measured by the positive academic, social, and emotional growth our students make during their time at Lakeside. Lakeside is a place every child can and will succeed! Parents, teachers, support staff, and administration all play a vital role when it comes to encouraging and supporting our students to be active and engaged learners.

The staff here at Lakeside are a remarkably dedicated group of professionals that are driven each and every day to support the growth of our students academically, socially, and emotionally. Our goal is for each student to make significant growth while striving to achieve mastery of each standard. Our staff strives to meet the needs of our students on an individual basis by personalizing instruction in a blended learning environment. We are proud to continue the implementation of our Positive Behavioral Interventions and Supports (PBIS) in our building as well as a multi-tiered system of support for both academics and behavior in order to support the needs of our students. We promote a safe and orderly environment through these 4 behavioral expectations (CORE): Civility, Order, Respect, and Excellence.
