Smile 2

With the seasons changing, studios are coming out with new movies, one of them being “Smile 2,” the sequel to the 2022 film “Smile." Even for viewers who are not fans of scary movies, this film still provides an interesting story that can keep them on the edge of their seat. It is important for people to know before seeing the movie, though, that there are depictions of suicide shown in both movies in this franchise. There are also mentions of it in this review.

“Smile 2” was released on Oct.18 in theaters, and it is two hours and 12 minutes long.

This movie tells the story of Skye Riley, who is portrayed by Naomi Scott. “Smile 2” also stars returning actors Sosie Bacon and Kyle Galiner with the roles Dr. Rose Cotter, and Joel the police officer and a new character Lewis Fregoli who is played by Lukas Gage.

In the first “Smile” movie, Dr. Rose Cotter takes on a new patient named Laura Weaver, who is portrayed by Caitlin Stasey. Laura had seen her professor beat himself to death with a hammer just a few days before she came into Dr. Cotter’s care.

Laura claims that she was tormented by a haunting presence, who has bestowed a curse on her which she can only see. Even when she was diagnosed with having hallucinations, she still tries to explain to Dr. Cotter that the entity can take any form of someone with a terrifying smile.  Later in the movie, Laura is then seen with the same eerie smile in front of the doctor before she kills herself, and then the curse was then passed onto Dr. Cotter.

Now in “Smile 2,” that same curse is still being passed on to different people and eventually gets passed on to troubled pop star Skye Riley, who is just now trying to recover from the death of her boyfriend Paul, who is played by Ray Nicholson.

Skye was ready to put all her grief and feelings in the past, but the entity uses her insecurities to drive her insane. For example, when Skye goes to her former best friend Gemma – who is played by Dylan Gelula – for help, Gemma’s whole conversation and storyline with Skye turns out to be just a hallucination caused by the Smile entity.

The Smile entity, also known as “The Monstrosity,” is the main antagonist in “Smile” and “Smile 2.” The entity is described as tall, lanky and a carnivorous demon that is found alone roaming in the woods.
Though this movie is not recommended for young viewers because of all the gore and insanity, it has gained a great amount of attention from teenagers and adult audiences.

“Smile 2” is definitely the kind of movie for people who enjoy great scares and frights. Even for people who don’t like scary movies, the storyline makes it worth watching

Throughout the movie everything feels real, from the emotions to the gore and violence, it just all feels authentic

The entire storyline will have viewers entranced and will make them want to keep watching. Even though the frights and screams will probably give them a heart attack, that will make it all the more interesting to watch.
