In times of uncertainty, it is key to remember that there will always be people fighting for you in congress, no matter where you stand on the political spectrum. To say that I wasn’t disappointed and otherwise embarrassed by the results of the election would be an understatement.
I am an American just as you are, and whether you like it or not was a nation have just put a man in office who is a convicted felon, a president who has been impeached twice, a lying , unfaithful man, and yet we still believe he is going to the lead our nation in the right direction.
I am utterly dumbfounded by the results of the election, Harris who I believed wholeheartedly would win lost in dramatic format ceasing to not win one singular swing state. Myself as well as yourself may feel helpless in this impossible situation.
America in a sense has made their bed and now we must all lay in it. While right now this may seem hard to grasp but we will make it through these four years, after these four years Trump can not run again, his commanding leadership over American politics will be over.
This is not a time to criticize, or excoriate those who did vote for either side. It is paramount that we respect the differences in how we as Americans view this great country, and how we believe the future for our country should play out.
I can not vote. I am only 17 but I do have opinions on who should be running our country. I do want to warn those who will vote in the future for policies that will divide the country furthermore that without taking precautions, electing Trump into office, or creating irreversible policies may be the worst decision in American history.
Moreover I do believe that we have made a mistake as a country however the world will not stop turning because of the election results. I am proud to say that we as a staff have brought to you the third issue of the Owl newsmagazine.
