Good afternoon Warren Scholars, Families, and Staff,
We have a few important items for the week of August 2nd.
I hope your 23-24 school year is off to a fantastic start. Thank you for your patience as we work through some beginning-of-the-year adjustments.
Many of you may have heard the good news about textbook rental being eliminated this year by the Governor and the General Assembly. Parents and caregivers will no longer be charged fees associated with textbooks and curriculum. This new policy is for the 2023-2024 school year and moving forward. We will still work with our families who owe textbook rental fees for the 2022-2023 school year.
MSD Warren Township, in partnership with the Indiana Immunization Coalition, will provide a clinic to accommodate immunizations required for school-age children on Wednesday, August 23rd, at Moorhead Community Resource Center from 3:00 - 6:00 p.m. Families are asked to pre-register for this event. The registration link for the immunization clinic is patients.vaxcare.com/registration. After clicking on the link, enter the enrollment code, IN65942, and then select Warren Schools-8/23. Linked here and below are the required immunizations for school-age children for the 23-24 school year.
I am excited to share that Friday, August 11th is Warren Family Night at the Indianapolis Indians game downtown at Victory Field. This event is for all students, families, and staff. Tickets are just $8 for lawn seats. This will be a great evening to show off our Warren pride, watch some great baseball and take in the fireworks show after the game. Tickets can be purchased by visiting the website or using the QR code on the attached flyers.
It is that time of year to get ready and register for the Warren Council PTA Homefest event on Friday, September 1st, from 5 p.m. - 7 p.m. As part of this tradition, students in PK-8 are invited to participate in the annual Fun Run event. This is a great event for all kids to participate in! Additionally, each elementary school and intermediate middle school’s PTA will be involved and will provide games for kids of all ages. Come see our high school students take on WCHS staff in the annual kickball game, shop from local vendors, and enjoy some delicious food from some of our local community food trucks. Please register by using the following link, warren twp council pta.squarespace, and look for additional information in your child’s school newsletters. If you sign up before August 14th, you will receive a FREE Warren Homefest t-shirt! AND…the school with the most kids participating will receive a trophy! This is a great evening of fun and a great way to support all of our PTA’s in the District. We also invite our students, staff, and families to attend the home football game that night against North Central. The game starts at 7 p.m.
