Good Afternoon Warren Students, Families and Staff,
Thank you students and staff. You continue to do a great job of wearing your masks and physically distancing yourself while at school. I want to encourage you to adhere to these same safety measures outside of school as well. As we enter into the 3rd full week of school and getting closer to colder weather, the need to monitor students prior to coming to school will continue to be a top priority for our families and caregivers. In the event that your son or daughter is experiencing symptoms consistent with COVID-19 or has been tested for COVID-19, please keep them at home and contact your child’s school immediately.
Speaking of colder weather, Flu Shots are being offered for our VIRTUAL students by Health Heroes at Moorhead Community Resource Center tomorrow, Thursday, August 27th from 10:00 - 2:00. Consent forms will be onsite or you can find them on your child’s home school website. This service was also made available for our IN-PERSON students through their home school.
Our next breakfast and lunch distribution for all VIRTUAL students will continue to be Tuesday and Friday mornings from 8:00 - 9:30 AM at Moorhead Community Resource Center. Starting next week, we will also be adding Tuesday evenings from 4:30-6:00 PM as an additional distribution time. I would also like to remind our 6-12 students that we are offering a take home meal for your VIRTUAL Application Day.
Reminder, If you have a tech or device need, please submit a help ticket through IncidentIQ support system by clicking on Technology under the Explore Tab and then select Parent Tech Info. Families can also use this process or contact their child’s school to request a WIFI hotspot. We will continue to provide device support at Moorhead Community Resource Center Monday - Friday from 11:00 - 1:00. We have identified about 600 students who have not returned their device from this past spring. Please bring your device to Moorhead or your child’s school. Families will be billed for unreturned devices.
Although I am extremely proud of the energy and effort that our Warren teachers and staff have put into the start of this school year, I recognize that the experience has not been positive for everyone. We will continue to address the issues in front of us and communicate as much as needed to our students, staff, and families to provide an exceptional experience.
Thank you for your continued support in Warren schools and students and I hope you have a great rest of your week.
Dr. Tim Hanson, Superintendent of Schools for MSD Warren Township
