July 14, 2021
Good Afternoon Warren Students, Families, and Staff,
We have a few important announcements for the week of July 14th.
All of our Warren schools are now open during their normal school hours. If you have questions about the upcoming school year, feel free to reach out to your child’s school.
Moorhead Community Resource Center will be hosting a fun-filled back-to-school event next Thursday, July 22nd from 5pm to 7pm for Warren students and families. In addition to school supplies being provided, there will be several exciting activities including games, a furniture raffle and shoes for students. We ask that students be present to receive supplies and clothing items. These items will be shared on a first come first serve basis.
Some updates on devices:
Students entering 1st - 5th grade who attended a Warren school last year must return to school with their iPad, keyboard case, and charger as they will continue to use this device for this school year. Incoming Kindergarten students will be issued new iPads with keyboard cases after school begins.
Students entering 6th grade must return with their Chromebook, charger, and carrying case. These will be collected and students will be issued a new iPad, keyboard case, and charger.
Incoming 9th and 10th grade students must bring their Chromebook and charger with them to registration. These will be collected and new Chromebooks and chargers will be issued.
All returning students will have their device, charger, and shell or case confirmed by their teacher. Students who do not return with a working device or charger may be charged a replacement fee. Also, a student receiving a new device that does not return their old device, charger, and case may be charged a replacement fee. If you are not returning to Warren, please return your device to your child’s school or at Moorhead Community Resource Center.
We are continuing to collect and analyze the most recent data and guidance related to COVID safety protocols for the 21-22 school year. Additional information will be shared as soon as possible. Please visit our website to access previous messages that include information on food distribution and registration.
It is exciting and hard to believe that our 21-22 school year will start two weeks from today! Enjoy the rest of your summer break and thank you for your continued investment in Warren students and schools.
Dr. Tim Hanson, Superintendent of Schools for MSD Warren Township
