January 5, 2022
Welcome back Warren Students, Families, and Staff,
We have a couple of important announcements for the week of January 5th.
I want to say thank you to our students, families, and staff for a great start to the second semester. I appreciate your continued support of our safety protocols as we navigate through this most recent spike in COVID cases. It is important that our students and staff continue to self-monitor for COVID-like symptoms, and stay home and get tested if you are experiencing two or more symptoms.
We have observed a high number of COVID cases our first couple of days back, which was predicted based on holiday and social gatherings over break. As a result, we are experiencing a higher number of staff absences across the District. This is and will continue to have an impact on all of our operations, including transportation and bus routes. Our transportation team will continue to communicate with families through ParentSquare when bus pick-up and drop-off times are impacted. It is important that parents/caregivers keep their contact information up-to-date so that they can receive this information. We sincerely appreciate your patience and understanding.
As we continue to monitor our student and staff absences related to COVID and other illnesses that are common this time of the year, it will be our goal to keep all of our schools open and have all of our students and staff in person. This being said, I encourage all of our families to be thinking about and plan for the possibility of eLearning days being used in the event our staffing needs become too much to overcome. I want to be clear that our staff is going above and beyond and doing everything they can to maintain a high standard of safety and keep the day-to-day operations going. This is a very challenging situation and I could not be more proud of everyone’s efforts.
We will get through this together and I thank you for your continued investment in Warren students, schools, and staff. I hope that you stay safe and healthy!
