Good afternoon Warren Students, Families, and Staff,
This is Dr. Tim Hanson, Superintendent of Schools for MSD Warren Township, with an important announcement related to the forthcoming inclement weather. This does not impact this evening’s activities.
Although the forecasted weather event will begin as rain tomorrow morning, it is expected to transition to ice and then to all snow throughout the day and into Thursday evening. As a result, all K-12 students will participate in eLearning tomorrow, Wednesday, Feb. 2, and Thursday, Feb. 3. Warren Early Child Center daycare and preschool will be closed these two days. K-12 students will access their instructional materials through Canvas and will have access to their teachers at the following times:
K-4 students: 9 a.m. - 12 p.m.
5-8 students : 9 a.m. - 12 p.m.
9-12 students : 11:30 a.m. - 2:30 p.m.
Student attendance and grades will be based on the completion of assignments and per our eLearning policy, students will have 5 days to submit their eLearning assignments to their teacher.
School buildings will be open on Wednesday from 8 a.m - 12 p.m. if families need to retrieve any items for their students. School buildings will be closed on Thursday.
A decision on whether eLearning will be extended to include Friday, Feb. 4 will be made depending on the impact of the forecasted inclement weather. This communication will be sent on Thursday afternoon.
I encourage our students and staff to enjoy the snow and I hope everyone remains safe during the next few days.
