February 23, 2022
Good Afternoon Warren Students, Families, and Staff,
We have a few important announcements for the week of February 23.
We are making two changes to our COVID safety protocols that will begin on Monday, February 28.
Starting on Monday, the use of the 10-day quarantine will no longer be required for close contacts. In the event of an individual testing positive for COVID, parents and caregivers of that classroom / group will be notified through ParentSquare and will be asked to monitor their son or daughter for symptoms. If your child remains symptom-free, they may continue attending school. If symptoms are present or do become present, your child should remain home until they are symptom-free for at least 24 hours.
This change does not impact the individual who tests positive. Those who test positive for COVID will still be required to isolate for 10 days.
Also beginning on Monday, masks will be optional for PK-12 students and staff. Due to the federal mandate that is still in place, masks will continue to be required on buses for both students and staff. This decision is being made based on our much improved District and Marion County Data. While we are hopeful that masks will continue to be optional, we recognize that in the event of another surge, we could reinstate the requirement to maintain the safest possible environment for students and staff.
We will continue to encourage social distancing, good hygiene practices, and for individuals who are not feeling well to stay home. We will also continue to post our weekly positive cases on our District website.
Thank you, students, staff, and families for your cooperation and patience as we continue to be responsive to COVID and provide a safe learning environment for our students and staff.
Have a great rest of your week.
