March 9, 2022
Good Afternoon Warren Students, Families, and Staff,
We have a few important announcements for the week of March 9th.
There have been some questions regarding the Pandemic Electronic Benefits Transfer (P-EBT) card funds. Based on the information on the FSSA website, the fall benefits, which cover October, November, and December, were issued on February 25th. According to the site, the issuance date for benefits from January, February, and March are to be determined. Linked to this email is an FAQ for the P-EBT program. If you have any questions, please reach out to your child’s school and they can help with the process.
It is that time of year when we are beginning to think about the upcoming school year! Our transition events started last week when we invited all of our 8th-grade students to visit Warren Central High School and Walker Career Center. We have a couple of exciting events planned to support our new Preschool and Kindergarten students, as well as our 4th graders transitioning to 5th grade, and 8th graders transitioning to 9th grade.
Journey to Pre-K and Journey to Kindergarten open houses will be held at the Warren Early Childhood Center and at each of our Warren Elementary Schools on Tuesday, March 22, from 6 - 8 p.m.
We will also be hosting our Journey to High School Open House at Warren Central High School for incoming freshmen on March 22 from 6 - 8 p.m.
Please look for more information in school newsletters and if you have any questions, please contact your child’s school.
We are excited to be hosting our annual Teacher Recruitment Hiring Event tomorrow, Thursday, March 10, from 4:30 - 7:30 p.m. This is a virtual event and interested candidates can register by clicking this link.
We are also excited to announce an upcoming information session on becoming a Guest Teacher in Warren Township. This event is being held at Moorhead Community Resource Center on Tuesday, March 15, from 5:30 - 7:30 p.m. Walk-ins are welcome or you can schedule a time by following this link. Guest teachers are paid $150 a day and are eligible for benefits. Questions can be shared with Lara Kernan at 317-610-0429.
I want to send lots of positive energy and best wishes to our 3rd graders who are taking the IREAD3 assessment this week.
Next week, our students, staff, and parent/caregiver Panorama survey will be opening on Monday, March 14. Your feedback helps identify our strengths and our opportunities to improve. Thank you in advance for your participation.
One last reminder, this weekend is the beginning of Daylight Saving Time. Please remember to move your clocks one hour ahead.
Thank you for your continued investment in Warren students, schools, and staff. Have a wonderful rest of your week.
Dr. Tim Hanson, Superintendent of Schools for MSD Warren Township
