April 13, 2022
Good Afternoon Warren Students, Families, and Staff,
We have a few important announcements for the week of April 13th.
I would like to again welcome back our students and staff from our 2-week intersession break. I hope you had an awesome break and I am looking forward to a strong finish to the last 30-plus days of this school year.
As we prepare for the 2022-23 school year, parents and caregivers of current Warren students are required to enroll their students for the upcoming school year. We have made this requirement more convenient for families by creating an online enrollment process. Please visit our District website and click on the Enrollment / Registration button on the home page. If you have questions or need assistance, please contact your child’s school. Thank you to those families who have already completed this process.
Parents and caregivers of 4th-grade students, due to the forecast of thunderstorms and possible severe weather, tonight’s Journey to Intermediate Middle School, 5th Grade Open Houses at Stonybrook, Creston, and Raymond Park are being rescheduled for Wednesday, April 27th from 6:00 - 8:00 p.m. We apologize for the last-minute cancellation but want to make sure our students, families, and staff are able to make it home safe.
For families interested in our K-12 virtual program for the 2022-23 school year, our K-12 Warren Online Academy Open House will be held Monday, Apr. 18, 2022, from 6-8 p.m at our Renaissance School.
I am excited to share that our inCREdible Elementary District Art Show is returning and will be held at our Porter Service Center from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. next week, Apr. 18-22. I encourage everyone to stop by and see the outstanding artwork created by our elementary artists! Thank you to our amazing Art teachers for providing this opportunity!
Students in grades 3-8 will be participating in Indiana's ILEARN Assessment starting Monday, Apr. 18, through Friday, May 6. It's important for students to be present and on time to school each day during the testing period. If at all possible, we appreciate you not scheduling appointments for your child on the mornings of Apr. 18 - May 6. Although we know these results do not define our students or teachers, the results can show us the strengths and needs of our students. Please provide a lot of encouragement and support for your child to do their very best.
This Saturday is the annual Warren Clean Up Day sponsored by the Warren Central PTSA. Although the volunteer sign up is closed, I would encourage everyone to take some time on Saturday to make the Far Eastside shine by pitching in and picking up trash when you see it.
As I mentioned earlier, we have a little over 30 days of school remaining in this school year. I would love to see our student attendance be the highest it has been all year and to see our students make these remaining days the best they can.
Thank you for your continued investment in our Warren students, staff, and schools, and have a great rest of your week.
Dr. Tim Hanson, Superintendent of Schools for MSD Warren Township
