May 11, 2022
Good Afternoon Warren Students, Families, and Staff,
We have a few important announcements for the week of May 11th.
The end of the year is quickly approaching! Prior to the last day of school, current 5th through 12th grade students will be required to turn in their device (iPad or Chromebook), case, and charger. Each school will share specific details on when students will turn their devices in. High school students may keep their device if they are participating in summer school.
Also, any K-12 student that has a MSD Warren issued T-Mobile hotspot is required to turn it in to their teacher before the end of the school year.
Devices and hotspots will be scanned to ensure students are returning the same device that was issued to them at the beginning of the school year. If devices are lost, damaged, or otherwise not returned in working order, families will be charged to replace or repair their device. If you know that you have a lost or damaged device, please contact your child’s school for the repair or replacement amount. Invoices will be sent to families who do not return the District assigned device. Students will be re-issued a device to start the 22-23 school year.
Warren is providing extended learning opportunities this summer for students currently in Kindergarten through 8th grade. The summer learning program will be half days from 8:30 a.m.-12 p.m., and will begin on Monday, June 6, and end on Friday, June 17. Students will be provided transportation, breakfast, and lunch. The elementary programs will be held at Lowell and Sunny Heights, and the intermediate middle school program will be held at Stonybrook. Space is limited, and we encourage families to register as soon as possible. The flyer attached to this email will provide more information and the registration link.
I want to thank our students and families for making our staff feel loved and appreciated last week. Your notes of encouragement and support meant a lot to our staff. I also want to take this opportunity to share my appreciation for our families and parents for your continued support this school year. Thank you for your partnership and for supporting us in providing an exceptional learning experience for your child. We cannot do this without you!
Just a reminder that May 26 is our last day of this school year, and July 28 is the first day of the 22-23 school year.
Have a great rest of your week, and thank you for your continued investment in our students, staff, and schools.
Dr. Tim Hanson, Superintendent of Schools for MSD Warren Township
