Good evening, this is Rich Shepler, principal of Warren Central High School. As a reminder, lots 2 and 3 on the 16th street side of the building will be closed and south side entrances to the building will not be accessible. To maintain order, parents, and caregivers that are dropping off and picking up students must do so at the main entrance to the high school. Please enter from Mitthoeffer Road or 21st street and pull all the way around the circle to let your students out. This will allow for more vehicles to drop off at one time and prevent a back up in traffic.
Our senior counselors and Invest Ed will be hosting a Zoom meeting about the FAFSA this Thursday, September 10th, at 6 PM. Please attend to learn how to fill out this free application for student aid, learn about the different kinds of financial aid, and have questions answered. The Zoom link has been shared on social media and emailed to the students. If you cannot find that link, please email the school counselor so that you can attend.
Mid Quarter one grades will be posted and ready to view on Wednesday, September 9th. Please review your student’s grades and reach out to teachers with any questions or concerns. Additionally, in order to maintain open lines of communication between the school and families, please double-check the Parent VUE in Synergy to make sure all contact information is up to date.
As we prepare for another great week, tomorrow is a holiday and MSD Warren Township is closed in observance of Labor Day. Please note this week will start with a Gold Day on Tuesday. Gold day students should attend in person and Black day students will work from home. Please screen students daily for COVID 19 symptoms. Students experiencing symptoms should stay home and parents or caregivers should contact the cohort office with that information.
Finally, in order for our schools to be in compliance with the state laws regarding immunizations, please make sure that your student(s) have their updated information on file with your school's nursing staff. All student vaccines must be on file and up to date by September 21, 2020, to avoid exclusion. Please make your school's nursing staff aware of any upcoming appointments for vaccines, or if there are any medical or religious objections to your student receiving his or her vaccines.
Also, PLEASE inform your school's nurse of any chronic health conditions that the school should be made aware of, and that your student's medical emergency information is up to date."
As always, please check your email, the Warren Township app, and social media for continued updates.
Thank you and have a good evening.
