Good evening, this is Rich Shepler, principal of Warren Central High School. We had a great first week of the second semester. I want to thank each and every student that attended synchronous classes virtually this week and completed application day assignments. We know this is an adjustment for all, but I appreciate your good citizenship and dedication to learning the content knowledge being shared with you. Our teachers continue to work hard planning excellent lessons and next week will be available to assist during learning hub hours as well. If you were unable to attend classes this week, I again want to challenge you to show up each day, each period, and get learning hub assistance when you need it.
The goal of learning hubs at the high school is to provide academic and social emotional support to students. We will host in-person and virtual learning hubs each Tuesday and Thursday in both the morning and afternoon through February 11th. Cohort teams and teachers will invite students to various learning hubs and students can request help from specific teachers as needed. If your student has been identified for an in-person learning hub they will be notified and transportation and meals will be provided. Students with scheduling conflicts or additional needs should communicate with teachers and staff to make alternate arrangements.
On Tuesday, January 12th, from 1-5 pm we will have material distribution for specific Semester II courses. Your child should have received communication from their teacher if they have materials that need to be picked up. Additionally, a list of courses with materials to be picked up is attached to the emails that corresponds with this message. When arriving for your materials, please park in lot 7 on the West end of our football field and enter in through Door 14 near the natatorium. As a reminder, masks are required to enter our building, and we ask that everyone practice social distancing from other students and families while in the building.
Tutoring will reconvene this week. Tutoring sessions will be offered on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 2:45 pm to 4:45 pm in our West Cafeteria. As a reminder, food and transportation home will be provided, if needed.
