Good evening, this is Rich Shepler, principal of Warren Central High School. As we round out week three of the semester, I want to remind our families of important upcoming events.
Mandatory testing for both junior and senior students is scheduled in the coming weeks.
Seniors that are still in need of a graduation pathway will be expected to attend ASVAB and ISTEP testing. ASVAB testing will take place on Tuesday, January 26th at 7:15 am. Senior ISTEP retesters will test from February 9th-12th, with testing beginning at 7:15 am each day. Passing these tests fulfills a graduation requirement and attendance is mandatory.
All juniors will take the ISTEP test beginning Tuesday, February 2nd. Students with last names A-K will test each day from Tuesday, February 2nd through Friday, February 5th. Students with last names L-Z will test each day from Tuesday, February 9th through Friday, February 12th. Juniors should report to their testing locations by 7:15 each day. This is the annual graduation qualifying exam and attendance is mandatory.
Testing locations for both tests will be sent to students via email. Transportation can be provided if needed. Please direct any questions you may have to your student’s cohort team.
Starting this week the Technology Help Desk Hours will return to 11:00 AM - 1:00 PM at Moorhead Community Resource Center. Chromebooks can still be brought to any of the three Intermediate Middle Schools during school hours, 9:00 - 4:00, Monday - Friday, or the Chromedesk at the High School during 1st and 2nd period, Monday - Friday. If for some reason you are not able to access the above times and locations, you can submit a help ticket through IncidentIQ by clicking on Technology Tab under the Explore Tab and then select Parent Tech Info.
Linked to this email is our Invest In Warren newsletter and it can be found on our website by clicking Newsroom under the Explore Tab. In this month’s newsletter, we are asking our K-12 families and staff as well as our high school students to participate in an Equity and Inclusion Survey. The purpose of this survey is to hear from our community on how we can continue to build an equitable system for our students and outcomes. The survey link is bit.ly/WarrenEquitySurvey. It is also in the newsletter and on our websites.
Finally, please be reminded that the deadline for the high school change of placement for semester two closed in November. Due to staffing and class size limitations, we are unable to honor the change of placement requests at this time.
We ask that you continue to check your email, the Warren Township app, and social media for continued updates and important information.
Thank you so much for your time and have a great evening.
