Greetings, this is Mrs. Taylor, proud principal of Warren Central High School.
These first two days of school were simply amazing. The smiles and positive energy permeating from both students and staff made for a wonderful start to the school year. Thank you parents for making sure your students were here on time and ready to learn. Remember the goal is 97% or higher attendance for all. The last two days have allowed us to assess the impact that current construction and limitation to space has had on traffic flow into the building, throughout the building, and within our cafeterias. I believe that we have been able to quickly and effectively address any of these concerns and take immediate action. One of the adjustments needed was to redistribute students to different lunch blocks to ensure all students had plenty of time to eat and to avoid traffic jams when exiting the cafeteria. I am asking that you have your student review their schedules again prior to Monday to check whether or not there has been a change to their lunch assignments. In addition, we will be distributing lunch cards that are color coded to a specific lunch block and cafeteria.
Friendly reminder that drop off for students is at door 21. Parents should enter from 18th Street. Student drivers should plan to park in Lot 8 and enter the school via door 62. The first period begins promptly at 7:15. Please be sure to plan accordingly to ensure your student is here on time. Students riding buses home will need to report directly to the bus lot immediately after the dismissal bell. Buses will pull from the lot no later than 2:30. Students not on their assigned buses by 2:30 will need to find alternate transportation. We ask that you encourage your student to exit the building immediately and head straight for their assigned bus. Lastly, I am asking all parents and caregivers that are picking students up for early dismissal from school to please park in Lot 5 on the west side of the building and enter Door 21. Please refrain from parking in the student drop-off/pick-up area. Additionally, we would ask that all early dismissals occur prior to 1:45 pm.
We are aware that some students are in need of Chromebooks and ID pics. We will be distributing Chromebooks over the next week. Students will receive information next week on when and where they will pick up their Chromebooks. Teachers are aware that some students are still waiting on Chromebooks and will adjust assignments and due dates accordingly. If your student has a Chromebook at home that is damaged or not working please encourage them to bring those items in to our helpdesk. Picture IDs will be taken on August 8th for students who did not attend registration or orientation. The following link can be used for those interested in purchasing school pictures. Again, what a wonderful end to our first 2 full days of school. I anticipate nothing but more amazing things next week. Have a great weekend and as always thank you for allowing me to serve your students.
