HISTORY
MSD of Warren Township is a Public PreK-12 school district serving the Far East side of Indianapolis. Named for Dr. Joseph Warren, an American physician, who played a leading role in the early days of the American Revolution, the Township was established in 1826 with the first school building put into use in 1827 (located 3 blocks south of Brookville Road between Hunter and Kitley Avenues). In 1851, 2 upper schools were established in Irvington and Cumberland and the township trustee divided the Township into 9 school districts - 9 lower schools were established in these districts.
