MSD Warren Township is thrilled to introduce Dr. Tierney Anderson as our new Assistant Superintendent of PreK - 8th Grade. With an impressive background in education and a heart for student success, Dr. Anderson is a dynamic leader prepared to continue to guide our PreK-8th schools toward excellence.
When asked about her inspiration for pursuing a career in school leadership, Dr. Anderson reflected, “My decision to pursue school leadership was from the heart. I knew I had a huge impact on the students in my classroom and their learning. My goal was to impact as many students as I could in a school day. This is what led me to become a school administrator.”
This deep-rooted passion has shaped her career and fueled her commitment to making a difference in the lives of countless students.
Dr. Tierney Anderson, a graduate of Ben Davis High School’s Class of 1998, continued her academic journey at Jackson State University, where she proudly earned her Bachelor’s, Master’s, and Specialist degrees in Elementary Education. She began her career teaching third grade at Sykes Elementary in Jackson Public Schools, before returning to Indiana in 2007 to teach math at Stonybrook Middle School. This role marked the beginning of her path toward educational leadership. With more than two decades of experience, she has served as a middle school math teacher, assistant principal, principal, Director of Elementary Education in MSD Lawrence Township, and most recently, as the Deputy Human Resource Officer for Diversity, Equity, and Belonging in Warren Township.
Commitment to Warren Township
Stepping into the role of Assistant Superintendent is especially meaningful for Dr. Anderson, as she considers Warren Township her home. “For me, Warren was coming back home. I have always lived in Warren, and it was my first teaching experience in Indiana,” she expressed. Having served in the district from 2022 to 2024 in another leadership role, her deep connection to the community makes this transition even more impactful.
“The role of Assistant Superintendent is appealing because it allows me to reach more students, teachers, and families while having a lasting impact on my community. I live here, and I want to see positive changes on the far eastside of Indianapolis.”
Goals and Future Initiatives
Looking ahead, Dr. Anderson is focused on creating and expanding programs that provide students with enriching PreK-8 experiences, both inside and outside of the classroom. “I want to help create opportunities where learning is relevant, plentiful, and students can imagine their future,” she said. As Dr. Anderson steps into this pivotal role, we are excited to see the positive changes and initiatives she will bring.
Please join us in welcoming Dr. Tierney Anderson, a dedicated leader whose heart, passion, and expertise will undoubtedly enrich our district and community.
