August 25, 2021
Good Afternoon Warren Students, Families, and Staff.
We have a few important announcements for the week of August 25th.
I would like to start with some important reminders regarding our COVID safety protocols. Students, staff, and visitors, regardless of vaccination status, are all required to wear a mask while in our school buildings and on our school busses. For masks to be most effective, they are to be worn so that they cover the mouth and nose. Additionally, students and staff need to social distance at 3 feet from one another when practical and possible. By adhering to these protocols, we are able to contact trace at 3 feet vs. 6 feet, thus reducing the number of positive cases and close contacts.
Parents / caregivers, I cannot stress enough the importance of keeping your child at home if they are exhibiting COVID-like symptoms or if they have been tested for COVID and you are awaiting the results. By keeping your child at home, you will help minimize the spread of COVID and reduce the number of students and staff who need to be quarantined. If your child does test positive for COVID, it is important that you contact the school so that we can ensure the safety of other students and staff.
Most of our local Walgreens and CVS locations offer COVID testing, and Walgreens, CVS, Meijer, and Kroger offer the vaccination for ages 12 and older. You can visit vaccines.gov or call 211 to schedule an appointment.
Although the outcome was not what we wanted last Friday night, it was great seeing our students and Far Eastside community come out to support our WCHS Warriors Football Team, our WCHS Cheerleaders, and our Gold Brigade Band members! I want to remind everyone that tickets to our WCHS athletic events will now ONLY be sold on the GoFan website gofan.co, or on the GoFanMobile App. Tickets for the August 27th game vs. Bishop Chatard can ONLY be purchased through the GoFan app or website until this Friday, August 27 at 4 p.m. It is important to know that NO tickets will be sold at the gate. Individual, family, and PIT passes will be honored in lieu of a ticket. An additional change to attending football games this year is that elementary and intermediate middle school students must be accompanied by an adult to enter the football game.

Thank you for a great first month of the school year and thank you for your continued investment in Warren students and schools.
